1. Did you know that increasing your muscle mass can boost your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)? This means your body burns more calories even when you’re not active. In fact, for each pound of muscle you gain, your body can burn an additional 200 calories. That’s like having a mini workout while you’re resting!
2. As we age, our bone density may decrease over time. This is a natural process, but it can be accelerated if we don’t take care of our bone and muscle health. For women, this can be especially concerning as they may start losing muscle mass after turning thirty. If not addressed, this can lead to severe conditions such as osteoporosis. By building muscle, you can help prevent the deterioration of your bones and maintain your health in the long run.
3. Let’s talk about posture. In today’s world, many of us spend long hours sitting in front of a computer or using our phones. And let’s be honest, our posture could be better. But did you know that poor posture can lead to muscular imbalances? The good news is this can be corrected with strength training. By doing so, you can help reduce the risk of developing conditions such as an ‘S’ curve in your spine or increased shoulder bend.
There are many more reasons to start lifting, but here are a few reasons to get you started. I linked a couple of articles below, which go into further detail. ❤️
