Did you know that fitness doesn’t have to be miserable? I know so many people who have gone through their whole lives thinking that they despise exercise and constantly look at it as a chore they must do.
The truth is that fitness can be anything you make it out to be. There are standard recommendations for how much physical activity the ordinary person needs.
The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity. Still, you can choose the mode where you get this activity. The options are endless, and I urge you to try a little of everything. I love all the recent posts about people talking about being a hybrid athlete.
Try a spectrum of different activities and try to work on everything. Sports are often a great avenue, especially if you like to work out with friends. Swimming and walking are some of the most underrated modes of activity, especially for those with chronic conditions and joint problems. Dance fitness can be fun and energetic. CrossFit is great if you like to feel a burn, and hypertrophy training can be an excellent method if your main focus is body composition. Pickleball has gained a ton of popularity and can be fun.
It is essential to find out what works for you and your lifestyle. ❤
